As a person who has lived in South Korea for almost 4 years, of course I had to write about this country and their delicious foods first. I was an English teacher, with very little responsibilities outside of my classroom duties, so naturally, I spent a lot of time with my other English teacher friends. There was nothing better than eating gamjatang into the wee hours of the night in order to avoid that feeling in the morning. Gamjatang is known as "hangover" soup in South Korea.
This hearty soup/stew includes potatoes, cabbage, onions, ginger, garlic, and... PIG SPINE! It simmers for hours and comes out delicious with some spice! It's the perfect meal to share with a group of friends, or for yourself! No recipe tastes exactly the same, so be sure to try as many places as possible!
