I think there is a theme that is developing in our blogs - we love talking about the food you can enjoy after you've imbibed a little too much. This post is, however, focusing on a meal 500 times more delicious when you have some German beer with great friends. One of my personal favorites, the doener kebab, was the perfect food for many nights as a foreign student in Germany.
First, you take the delicious bread and put in either lamb or chicken meat that is shaved from a rotating stick of meat. That sounds a bit strange, doesn't it? Trust me, it's AMAZING!
After the meat, it is full of veggies you choose - onion, tomato, cucumber, and lettuce. I prefer just lettuce and meat. Then, you add the sauce - some places make spicy sauce, which is to die for!
There are doener shops all over Germany - you do not have to look for a long time when you're stumbling home late at night. If you are in Heidelberg, Germany (where I lived), go to Arbil Restaurant/Kebapzentrum near Bismarkplatz.
